Structure. Chemistry. Energetics.
Every body is built and maintained across three dimensions. Healing happens in all three.
Most of modern medicine treats the body as a collection of separate systems. Cardiology for the heart. Gastroenterology for the gut. Orthopedics for joints. Psychiatry for the mind. Each specialist looks at their part and rarely talks to the others.
The body doesn't work that way.
A misaligned spine changes how your diaphragm moves, which changes how you breathe, which changes how your nervous system regulates, which changes how your hormones cycle, which changes how you sleep, which changes how your immune system functions. By the time the doctor tells you that you have anxiety — or chronic pain, or insomnia, or autoimmune disease — the actual conversation started years earlier in dimensions that were never measured.
3D Healing is built on the premise that every body is constantly being shaped by three integrated dimensions:
These three dimensions are not separate. They are not even three sides of the same thing. They are the same thing, viewed from three angles. Health is the dynamic balance of all three. Healing — real healing — happens when all three are addressed at once.
This page is an introduction to the framework. If you want to go deeper, the book 3D Healing: An Integrative Blueprint for Healing What Conventional Medicine Has Missed is where the full system is laid out.
The body of the body.
Structure is the physical architecture you live in. Your spine and how it aligns. Your posture and how it holds. The motion of your joints. The strength of your muscles. The flexibility of your fascia. The way you breathe. The flow of your lymph. The quality of your rest.
Modern life is hard on Structure. Long hours sitting. Screens that pull the head forward. Cars and chairs and beds that shape the body in ways the body was not designed for. Repetitive motion at work. Lack of variety in how we move. By midlife, most adults carry years of structural compensation — patterns the body has adopted to keep functioning despite increasing dysfunction.
Structural healing happens in a sequence. The body releases what's stuck — through chiropractic care, medical massage, and other manual work. Then it rebuilds strength and stable patterns — through physical therapy and movement training. Then it refines movement quality — through specialized work like Gyrotonic, Pilates, and yoga therapy. Daily practices — movement, breath, sleep, posture awareness — hold the work in place over time.
What your body is made of and what it runs on.
Chemistry is everything that comes into your body, everything that gets made inside it, and everything that has to leave. Food. Water. Air. Vitamins, minerals, fats, proteins. Hormones, neurotransmitters, enzymes. The bacteria of your gut. The energy your mitochondria produce. The toxins your liver clears.
Most chronic disease is, at its root, a chemistry problem. Diabetes is a chemistry problem. Heart disease is a chemistry problem. Autoimmune disease is a chemistry problem. Cancer has a chemistry component in nearly every case. Even most mental health conditions — depression, anxiety, attention disorders — are deeply influenced by what is happening (or not happening) in the chemistry of the body.
The reassuring truth: chemistry is also one of the most responsive dimensions. Change what you put in. Change what you support. Change what you eliminate. The body responds — often faster than you expect.
The Chemistry dimension is built around three phases: BUILD what the body needs (foundational nutrients, clean food, hydration), SUPPORT what is struggling (gut, mitochondria, hormones, immune, cardiovascular), and CLEANSE what has accumulated (environmental toxins, metabolic waste, accumulated load). Lab testing, targeted supplementation, and dietary work are usually involved — ideally guided by a practitioner trained in functional or integrative medicine.
The electricity, the field, the flow.
Energetics is the dimension that conventional medicine measures least and dismisses most — and probably matters most over a lifetime. Your nervous system is electrical. Your heart's rhythm is electrical. Every cell carries a charge. The signals between your brain and your body travel as electricity. The flow of energy through the body is not a metaphor. It is the basic physics of being alive.
But Energetics is more than electricity. It includes the way your mind directs your attention. The way you feel your emotions and let them move through you. The way the people around you affect your state. The way your environment — the spaces you live in, the food you eat, the connections you maintain — shapes how you feel. The way intention and meaning act as forces in your healing.
Every healing tradition older than a hundred years took Energetics seriously. Acupuncture, qi-gong, polarity therapy, somatic work, contemplative practice — these traditions developed because human beings have always understood that the body has an energetic life. Modern science is now catching up: polyvagal theory, biofield research, HeartMath findings, somatic trauma work — all of it confirming what older traditions knew.
Energetic healing happens through both practice and partnership. Daily practices — breath, meditation, time in nature, grounding — build your own capacity. Practitioner support — acupuncturists, somatic experiencing practitioners, polyvagal-informed therapists, biofield workers — can address patterns and blocks that practice alone cannot reach. The mind is part of this dimension too: where attention goes, energy flows.
Every body is constantly seeking balance across these three dimensions. When one is weak, the others compensate. When one is strong, the others have room to find their own rhythm. The healing question is not "which dimension matters most?" — they all matter. The healing question is "which dimension is my body asking for support in right now?"
That dimension is your Weak Link.
Most people, on their first honest assessment, find they are stronger in one or two dimensions and weaker in another. Working on the strong dimensions feels satisfying — but rarely produces big changes. Working on the Weak Link feels harder — and that is where the fastest gains usually wait.
This is what the 3D Healing framework is built to help you do: assess where you actually are, identify your Weak Link, and build a personalized plan that addresses all three dimensions while focusing your energy where it will matter most.
There is one more piece worth saying out loud.
Your body has an innate intelligence. It heals cuts. It mends bones. It clears infections. It adapts to stress. It learns. It does this work every second of every day, whether you notice it or not. This is your body's Super Power — and it never goes away.
What changes over time is the bandwidth your body has to do this work. The accumulated weight of structural compensation, depleted chemistry, and dysregulated energetics gradually narrows that bandwidth. Healing, in the 3D framework, is not about adding something miraculous. It is about removing what is in the way so your body can do what it already knows how to do.
Less in the way. More of what it needs. That is most of healing.
If this framework speaks to you, here are three ways to begin:
The Response-Ability Self-Assessment is fifteen questions across the three dimensions. It will give you a score in each dimension out of 50, a total out of 150, and a clear sense of your Weak Link. It takes about ten minutes.
